Dry Eyes
Dry Eye Syndrome is a common cause of eye irritation. It is caused by a reduction in the amount of tears your body produces. This can be caused by ageing, medication such as antidepressants, antihistamines and the contraceptive pill, illness such as Sjogren's syndrome, damage to the eye and Blepharitis.
Symptoms of 'dry eyes' include irritated eyes, a slight blurring of vision from time to time and a sensitivity to bright lights. Thankfully treatments such as artificial tears and eye ointments are good at relieving such symptoms.
