Warts & Verrucas Warts are caused by a virus known as human papilloma virus and can occur at any time in our lives. Verrucas are warts that occur on the feet and are usually flatter in shape. Although they are not harmful and will generally disappear after about a year, they can, if in an awkward place, be painful or obstruct certain tasks. Some people will also find them unsightly and wish to speed their removal. These products use acids, chemicals or freeze drying, to destroy the wart tissue and remove it. Similar in appearance to warts and verrucas are corns & calluses. These are hard lumps of skin formed by continuous rubbing or pressure, often found on the fleshy parts of the feet or hands. Freeze Treatments: These treatments are based on the liquid nitrogen cryotherapy techniques used by doctors. However, the liquids within these aerosols and method of application is safe to use at home. Freeze treatments are the most recent development in wart treatments compared to other favoured methods that contain acid. In this case, the cells in the skin are frozen which kills the wart. Treatment may have to be repeated if the condition is particularly severe. Please note that we can only ship aerosols within the UK.
